I am off to see The Scottish Play as some call it. Then there's the rest of us who call it Macbeth.
It's the rebroadcast of the National Theatre's production.
UPDATE: Well, i got there in time, but a notice was on the door saying that due to technical difficulties, the showing will be rescheduled to some time in mid-December. That will give me time to reread the play, but i was looking foward to seeing it last night. So, culture postponed for a bit.
I am always bewildered by English humor. I watch these BBC comedies and feel sort of annoyed instead of merry. It's like they take a joke and run it into the ground. I do so enjoy the Scottish play, though..... :)
ReplyDeleteI was trying to find the scene from "The Simpsons" where Homer is talking to Ian McKellan about the play, but i could only find a Spanish or French version. I do like "The Black Adder," though, and thought this would be a good substitute.
